RE: Florida Fish-in
Might be a bit of a silly question, but what are the primary baitfish around Venice in late march? Is it still the glass minnows, or will there be other more effective patterns to tie. I've got all sorts of clousers tied up, and some glass minnows (Capt. Tony's pattern), and some of the sand fleas that I had good luck with last year.
Got lots of gurglers for the snook (that was fun) too, and a few other "inventions" that I'd like to try.
Looking forward to it guys, and gals.
TT.

The spanish & albies will be after scaled sardines, which are called whitebait, greenbacks, shiners or pilchards. Preferred baitfish size are usually 2-4" +. There's also finger mullet from 2-10". In the backcountry there are chubs, mojarra, mutton minnows & more. This is an excellent site for the best insights on the prey. http://www.fishermanscoast.com/
