I could use some help from one of you guys...

I need basic CCS info on typical Tenkara rods. I have had some requests to build them and need a point of comparison for available blanks. I am fully aware that Tenkara rods do not use a line number, but the ERN in the CCS should tell me about power, etc. The Action Angle will still affect the stroke of the rod for casting. It's just a really good way to measure the characteristics of a rod blank.

The idea here is that a blank is a blank is a blank. If the CCS numbers match they should operate fairly close to the same.

I don't know .02 about CCS, but the person who comes to mind that might have an opinion is Chris aka tenkarabum (tenkarabum.com)

Regarding a blank is a blank, I personally sense that tenkara rods don't tend to load in exactly the same way that a "guided" rod does. Casting the two kinds of rods has a distinctly different feel, at least to me. I can't began to describe the differences with words, but to me it's a very definite different feel.

I understand what you are saying. A Sage doesn't "feel" the same as a TFO, either. The CCS is a measurement system that is fairly easy to use that will allow one to actually measure the basic characteristics of any rod. I am just looking for a point of comparison. There are several other reasons a regular fly blank will not work for Tenkara.
