Get a bag of Fritos Scoops.
Eat the whole thing. Beer will help to get it all down. I recommend a locally-brewed India Pale Ale like Hopzone from the Bozone brewery in Bozeman, MT.
Then save the bag. The inside of the bag has a brightly-reflective chrome-silver tinsel surface. Cut it up into strips with a swing arm paper cutter. Now you have a lifetime supply of tinsel--in any strip-width you might want.

An old but useful trick, indeed. British tiers have been using Doritos bags for chironomid aka "buzzer" patterns for many years.

I tied some Lightning Bugs doing the same thing with the wrapper from a mint-flavored Three Musketeers bar, which was a greenish-silver color. The flies worked okay (probably because it's an inherently good pattern) but it wasn't really worth the effort to get usable lengths of the foil. The Frito bag's a lot bigger.

My wife loves Fritos. Doesn't eat them often, but she loves them. Surprisingly, there are only 3 ingredients in Fritos....Whole Corn, Corn Oil, and Salt.
I wonder what the fish would like best? When I was a kid, we caught a couple nice catfish and took them home to eat. When we cleaned them, they each had a chunk of field corn (cob and all) in their stomachs. We'd had a heavy rain previously, and some corn plants had gotten washed into the river. Hard to picture how a catfish would shuck the ear to get at the corn cob. :lol:
