Just posing the question for the Ohio FF'ers on this board...has there ever been such a thing as an Ohio Fish-in?
Can Michigan POSSIBLY have one and Ohio not?
Is there no Wolverine/Buckeye rivalry beyond the gridiron?

Why, the Ohio National Guard bought a bunch of 'Septic Tanks' and just as soon as they could get them 'started' they were going to invade Michigan! There was nothing dumber than a dumb Michigander; except a smart buckeye! But, as for rivalry, I'm afraid I didn't notice any,Quote:

Jim,
I'm game if you are. I think the "Fish-In" focus has generally been on Trout and while we have some opportunities for that we're really more of a "warm water" state. I like the idea and would be willing help. I can't say I want to get an interstate rivalry going but hey, whatever motivates folks to participate as long as its fun I'm up for it.
Maybe something in the spring to take advantage of the Steelhead runs on some of the northern rivers?
I like the idea!
Hey Super J...glad to know that you're not doing anything to fuel the rivalry. Being a displaced Hawkeye (hapless as they may be) I'm on the outside looking in on this one - but that means we get to play the spoiler as well.
As for the fish-in - Steelheading would be a blast next spring - although I may not be able to make that since our second is due in February and a weekend out for me probably won't be in the cards until summer.
Are there some places near the Mad River where a day of trout followed by a day of warm-water fishing might be possible? Not that I want to put it off that long - but that might be a way to satisfy both sides of the stream, so to speak.
Thoughts from anyone else?
We just had one last November. Lloyd Carr brought his finest tackle, but got skunked. We'll be hosting another such even in Ann Arbor this coming November. Stay tuned for Lloyd's final Big Ten appearance.
I love the idea (duh!)
Steelheading would be awesome.
The Mad, I think would be questionable as I wouldn't put it up as a being a quality trout fishery.
One other idea is the AEP Recreation Land. There are hundreds of Warm Water opportunities there. The only problem is getting permission and that is free so it really isn't a problem. I would imagine you could get Brian or some of the guys from MRO to present there. There is at least one prominent member of this board that would be qualified to present something I'd think (Cornmuse-Joe C.......hint, hint, hint).
I'm up for anything and while I don't really have any connections would be happy to help out with anything!
Here is a link to the AEP site FYI: http://www.aep.com/environmental/recrea ... efault.htm
Steelhead would be fun, but the weather and flows are too unreliable. You don't want to plan something only to get three straight days of rain beforehand. Warm water would be the way to go. Carp. That's good stuff.
