I'm looking for some of the more "exotic" fishing destinations. If you've already done the U.S., New Zealand, Patagonia, etc. where would you go next? I'm looking for something really special, and a bit out of the ordinary. Any suggestions?

Assuming you are targeting trout by the destinations that you listed, how about Kashmir, India? So long as Pakistan isn't fighting India over it.
I'd love to go to South Africa and fish some of the giant tuna off of Cape Point. My brother landed one on conventional gear that broke the 200lb mark. They also boated several more hogs, but none quite that big. There's also some fantastic trout fishing in the mountains of the wine lands near Stellenbosch. From there maybe the Seychelles, or Christmas Island.
Tight lines,
Thunderthumbs.
Good suggestions. It doesn't have to be trout at all. Any fish, anywhere.

There are more fish in Kashmir than trout. There are native Kashmir fish sort of like suckers in the trout streams and giant Mahseer found in the rivers.
From Webster's Dictionary:
Main Entry: mahseer
Part of Speech: n
Definition: any of several large freshwater carp of the Cyprinid family, esp. Barbus tor found mainly in India; also written [mahaseer], [mahsir], [mahsur]
Etymology: Hindi
Google "Russia fly fishing"
Read some articles re it; sounds interesting.

If you're looking for some REAL exoitic waters, I'd be happy to guide you on the exotic put-and-take ponds here in Albuquerque
Seriously, I've heard South Africa is very similar to NZ, its starting to gain notice for its trout fishing. Also Russia as mcsteff suggested, in the Siberia and Kamchatka (sp?) regions. Italian Alps for the Marble Trout.
Ever catch bonefish?

Maybe not too exotic but a tad unusual I think. I'm going tomorrow to the Hiawassee River in Tennessee fishing for striper. I'm taking my 11 wt in hopes of getting a shot at a bigun in what I am told is very clear, shallow water. I'll post if I get a shot or land anything. I'm thinking it will be a lot like fishing for Tarpon.
Tasmania - awsome trout fishing.
