Does anyone have a picture of a Hiromi Kuboki Crab fly? or even the recipe for it? I saw it in an old saltwater flyfishing magazine, but don't know which one and how to see it again.

Hiromi is a great fly tyer. I would like to see more of his work. I here he has a shrimp pattern floating around the web some where. I have not found the shrimp yet. If any one has, I would appreciate letting me know here on this string.

Thought I would give the Hiromi Crab a try. Hiromi must have had the patients of a saint. I think I will fish with two of these, and hold on to the rest of them!!

Doug
Doug, thank you for the kind words. I enjoy tying something new. When I go fly fishing, the first fly that comes out of my stash is a Clouser minnow. Haa!! everything else comes out if the Clouser will not produce. The salt here in Fort Walton beach FL is a great area to try all kinds of patterns. Thanks again.

so i have a few questions. do you paint them THEN cover them with silicon? and would it be possible to replace the silicon with hot glue from a hot glue gun?
Check out the PDF above. Latex is used to make the cutouts, claws etc. I coat them with Tulip Fabric paint [Gellies], witch is the clear or colored, depending what you are looking for. I use a perm. marker to color
a area. You can use acetone to blend it out. After you are done, coat the claws etc. with a clear coat of your choice. Hope this helps.

They look just awesome! Any chance to get the recipe?Quote:
