They claim you can't untie this one if it is tied on fishing line or other small diameter string/cord. Anyone tried it? They call it the impossible knot.

Looks just like a uni-uni splice.
I use the uni-uni as my leader to tippet connections and it has only failed a couple times....I have very high faith in it.
Looks really kewl!! But I'd imagine at least a modicum of coordination would be required!!!
I just tried it out on mono with only the 2 suggested twists and with 12lb mono it tested at about 5-6 pounds of pull before knot failure.
After seating the knot I am sure you could never get it out, but when put under pressure it starts to slip and then breaks. :(
More twists may help the fact, but a double or triple surgeons knot or a seaguar knot would be easier to tie and has 85% or better breaking strength.
Im sure the knot is great for gags though.
8) I tested it also. I don't know the lb test but it always broke at the knot which the best knot do not. It also broke before a barrel knot
I have always called it a "Purssic Knot" it is used to make Prussic loops in kermantle rope for climbing or rescue work. Its a good knot for its intended use, I tried it years ago for leader /tippet knot and found out it cut itself in two almost every time.
That's not new, is the double Duncan knot. I always use it to build leaders and also leader-tippet connection.
You can see it there:

i dont think breaking strength was the claim in the original post.

I also stated that the knot could not be untied like the original claim, but with 2 turns should not be used for fishing.
I suppose you could also call it the 'double' fisherman's knot. The fisherman's knot has been around at least since dacron bait casting line was used because on braided lines you only need one wrap (a simple overhand knot). http://www.iwillknot.com/fishermans_knot/
I think we should all reinvent the wheel and use the Internet to promote a new name for it. If we add some crystal flash we can even name it after ourselves and get an article in a fishing magazine.
