Hardy Reel repair?
I know that at one time or the other I have seen somewhere that there is someone who does reel repairs??? I dropped a Hardy Featherweight & bent the rim flange & try as I might, cannot get it back in shape enough to use either of the 2 spools I have for it.
Last, if need be, I could probably send it to Hardy but would prefer stateside, just due to the time factor. This was my 1st ever Hardy & has served me well for these many years. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Cortland is the USA sales/repair for Hardy.

QRR might be back in business, but I'm not sure. Paul moved and you need to catch him in the chat room, but his reputation is tops.

My understanding is that, if you need more than simple parts replacement, Cortland sends Hardy's to Archuleta anyway, so you're right to go to him (unless the reel is under warranty and needs Cortland's blessing first).

Although I have never had dealings with them, I know that there are 'several' companies that do use him.

Bill has been repairing my Hardy reels for some twenty-odd years. Recently he completed an overhaul on one of my old Scientific Anglers Hardy reels. Made it whole again. Over the years Bill has repaired my Lightweight and Perfect Hardys as well. He can fix any of them. In fact, he could probably build you a new one with all of the equimpent he has.
Bill has a web site.
Good Fishing,

Just seconding the response from Les and others: Bill Archuleta is the go-to-guy. He has repaired several of my Hardys, including fabricating and installing broken frame segments for a Princess and a St. Aidan. After he had repaired and refinished them, the only way to tell where the work had been done was a lack of scratches and wear.
