Hm, Wonder how cheap the beer is they're drinking? My micro brew runs about a buck per 12oz. +/-
Well, gas $3.95 per gallon, Yuengling $3.00 per bottle and that is at Pizza Hut ( expensive ).
Dear Bamboozle,
I can get you a 10 ounce draft for a quarter, Yuengling Premium, Bud or Coors Light it's your choice.
It's in Northumberland County PA so you are probably pretty close too.
Regards,
Tim Murphy :-)
It must be near Shamokin. There ain"t no places like that left in Luzerne or Lackawanna Counties any more, alas! Pete Bordi's in Scranton, famous for 10 cent beers well into the 1990's, is now gone. Part of the Steam Town Mall now covers it's hallowed ground. Last I knew, that section of the mall is no longer in use because of a large cracks in the floors.
I regard it as a welcome form of rough justice!
Bob
Dear Bob,
It's west of Shamokin almost as far as you can go in Northumberland County and not get your feet wet.
It's a "Hosey", but it only costs like $ 5.00 to join as a social member, so it's well worth it. They have great cheeseburgers and fries too, and they will set you back about $3.00 if you are hungry and want two burgers.
Regards,
Tim Murphy:-)
Bob:
I KNEW Bordi's would come up! I STILL remember (vaguely) trying to do $20 worth of $.10 drafts until the bartender talked some sense into me. Their pitcher prices had gas prices beat by a country mile even back in the 1990's!
Tim:
I've had a coupla, two, tree in Turbotville but it wasn't at a hosie. I actually don't remember where it was. ;)
I do know of some Schuylkill County hideaway barrooms that still had $.25 Ying Yang up until a few years ago. Now I think a glass will set you back a half-a-buck at most of them but I'm always stopping at new places when I'm up there. Unfortunately many those barrooms have very limited hours and some very old ownership and once they are gone they are gone forever!
Too bad gas prices have made my once frequent Route 54 runs a lot less common except when fishing.
