Anyone have a recommendation on a good small depth finder? I have a 16 foot Old Town that I use to fish some local lakes.

I have a "FISHING BUDDY" I've had for years, been banged around, used, abused, and it still works. Compact, trouble free, and runs on "C" batteries. Thinking of getting a new one just for the new features. Not the greatest detail, it is a depth finder, not a fish finder. They have them at CABULAS.
I have heard that ;
They have improved in quality since humming bird is now making them.
Just might have to pick one up this fall.
The side view option can come in really handy where I fish.

I have a Fishing Buddy that I use as a depth finder. It is much quicker than dropping the anchors to get the depth. I don't use it as a fish locator as I find myself spending to much time casting to where the machine tells me fiah are than fishing where I think the fish should be.
