1st fish of 2009
I caught my first fish of 2009 tonight. Unfortunately, I left my camera at home so there's no proof. You'll just have to take my word for it. A fisherman would never tell an untruth anyway, especially when it comes to reporting a catch. Would he? :D
Well, it wasn't much of a fish, but a 10" bass to start the year off isn't all bad.

Hey Jeff!
Good for your! This warm weathers been making me antsy about getting out too! You picked a good day to go. Form what I've seen of the forecast it's down hill for a couple of day but we're not going into the deep freeze. Temps in the low to mid 40's through Saturday.
In regards to the camera. I have sympathy for the position you find yourself in. I came back from a trip to BV last February and told my wife I had caught a nice 22" Brown but that I'd forgotten the camera. With out batting an eye she said "without a picture, it's just a story". I was certainly feeling the love that day.
Since I know you and know you'd never be anything but honest and forth right, I've got no problem with your word on this one (just don't ask my wife!).
Best regards!;-)

When I got home, my son, Daniel, had one of his buddies over. Daniel asked to see the picture. I told him I left the camera at home. He and his buddie just looked at each other and neither said a word. I think "fish story" was what they were both thinking.
For the record, I've seen you fish at Brookville and I don't doubt the 22 inch brown a bit. Really, I don't.

Hey, Hidehunter -- you took the words straight from my mind. We had a 40 degree day today ? two days after a two day white-out blizzard with -20 degree windchills. Someone said +60 degree weather next week. Bring it on! JW

Congrats!
Although I'd been out fly-fishing open water a half-dozen times in the past month or so, I hadn't so much as seen a fish until today. I finally managed to get a bluegill and a bass during my lunch hour today. Missed a few other hits, I think.
It had been 49 days since I'd last caught a fish (and that was ice-fishing), not that I was counting. ;)
