interestingly enough, I was considering tying five other patterns that were selected by five consecutive tyers.

da bug is back!
I'm going to tie a Peacock Trude for this swap.....Jason
-
my email address book hasn't been cooperating w/ me these past few daze...hopefully I'll get things sorted out by this weekend.
y'all know the drill.
a dozen toe-tagged flies in a crushproof container and a self addressed mailer and return postage to:
michael johnson

avondale, az 85323
flies should be in the mail prior to the deadline of may 20th. I've swapped w/ most of y'all before and know you'll honor the deadline. if something arises which prevents you from fulfilling your obligation to the swap participants, please let me know asap so that we can work something out.
my flies are finished incidentally. which leaves plenty of time (perhaps) for an additional set.

great.
I look forward to seeing them.
thanks for your promptness.
mike popick's double humpies are on their way as well.
mgj

Ah, humility.
There is a short list of things that I can do when I start feeling proud, capable, competent, or even boastful.
One is golf, the other is tying humpies.
I'm not a proud man...not after tying a dozen humpies for this swap.
In any case, the flies are done. I'll be packaging them up this morning and shipping them by the afternoon. I hope they're worth the extra hundred-or-so gray hairs I've earned in the process.
Pattern: Yellow Humpy
Hook: Size 12 dry
Thread: Tan
Tail: Moose
Abdomen: Yellow floss over Elk Hair
Hump/Wings: Elk Hair
Hackle: Furnace/Brown

badbug's flies arrived yesterday and they're great. no surprises there.
mgj
-
today saw the arrival of gordon's renegades, ed's humpies and mike's double humpies. damn fine flies guys. nothing humble about those humpies ed. mike's double humpies look like well humping humpies if indeed humpies actually hump.
renegades are proven producers.
this is shaping up very nicely w/ half the flies in hand well in advance of the deadline.
I'd also be remiss if I didn't thank you guys for alll the extras you included (even you essobee)...
mgj
-

Hook - Daiichi 1270 #14
Thread - black danville 6/0
Tail - golden pheasant tippett
Butt - thread
Body - peacock herl
Wing - dun cdc under elk
Hackle - golden badger
Hope you like them!....Jason

it was almost like Christmas morning here this afternoon. along w/ the muddler swap flies, I got packages from roy and jason.
super avon specials from roy and feenom offered up some peacock trudes w/ cdc (I'm guessing) under deer hair down wings, typically very well tied.
I believe I'm awaiting flies from one tyer...nope. it's two. you know who you are.
this one's almost done. do you need me to tell you how nice these flies are?
mgj

The tarantulas are on there way today.
-
they will be in the mail monday
-
all right!
chad's tarantula's arrived this morning looking good.
steve's are enroute and with sean's going out monday we're all in before the deadline.
well done gentlemen.
mgj
-
in the mail today as promised
-
just like that...
flies will be headed your way as soon as I have them in hand.
thanks alot for a nother great swap y'all.
sure makes things easy on my end.
mgj
-
steve's classic fish catchers, lime trudes arrived today.
I decided to tie y'all a bonus pattern since this thing finished so quickly and easily. I'll be tying what I can benchscrap wulffs. If you'd see them you'd know why. they are what they sound like and somedaze they're just the ticket. though by the time yer done with 'em it can be hars to tell what went into it. rather than just using random deer hair clippings for the wing I went ahead and tied stacked upright and divided calftail wings so they look a little more presentable.
awsaiting delivery of sean's flies and we're done.
mgj
-
all flies are in hand and divided.
there is one small hangup.
me.
I still have to tie 5 benchscrap wulffs, which I should manage to get around to...ummm...tomorrow. I'd do it tonight, but the suns are playing and lost is winding down. I've got a saltwater fishing trip to prepare for...I have a plethora of excuses.
anyways, they'll be in the mail friday. please post here to acknowledge recieving the flies and to compliment your peers.
thanks again. as usual it's been great.
enjoy.
