anyone got a new swap idea you've been thinking of doing??
Are you looking at hosting, or joining? We can probably get you hooked up either way.
I have several in mind. I started one on flies that caught your biggest trout, but backed it out since participation has slowed with all of the offerings lately. Better to give someone else a chance.
In the past, I've let what I was interested in dictate swap themes. That was either specific fishing applications, a new material, new technique, or an upcoming trip. Bluegill flies, tiny flies, entomology, Al Campbell too simples, boa yarn, warm water, carp, etc. You have to try to balance being specific enough to generate interest, while being broad enough to bring in swappers. Look through the old ones if you need inspiration.
BTW, some of my favorites so far have been the A to Z with 26 entries, Al Campbell's Too Simples, and punch yarn swaps.
Try these, too:

When fishing slows this fall, I would like to host another a to z or I want to try a states/provinces swap and see how much of the North American continent we can cover. Either of these will be large swaps involving lots of tying but would be really cool if we can pull it off.
right now im looking to join another swap :D
but in the very near future i will be hosting my very first swap!
that state swap is an awesome idea !!!
i would join that in a heartbeat!
I just closed the swapf swap while it was only half full. You can join in that one if you want. I'll give you my spot if you would like it. It is an easy pattern to tie, and an effective fish catcher. Let me know if you want to try it.
I just reposted the large trout swap. Jump on board if you want.
I was thinking about hosting a grasshopper/cricket swap. I just haven't had the courage to try, yet. I've been in lots of swaps here, but never hosted one. Maybe I'll get brave this week.
