Below the rock in the lower section center of the photo BILL
Left overhanging bank projection ...where the water looks darkest under it...about 1/3rd up on left
Any other guesses?

where would your first cast be placed?
was about a 20er male brown..
I went after him this fall too...
He moved.
First casts would be in the immediate foreground working side to side...then standing to the right I would lay a fly just in the riffle tailout up on the left so it would drift under that projection [of grass] :) I mentioned above.
i made 2 casts to this area...
both the same place...
both with a size 8 red tailed wooley worm...
lots of caterpillars out on road on way there.
Left hand side under the overhanging grass. The exact spot is bracketed by two overhanging pieces of dead grass.
Caterpillars depends if they were tent caterpillar size. Trout love them but the big woollys they don't seem to like them as much.
Now that I look at it again I also like the deep water on the lower right hand side almost out of the picture.

WOW! Where do you find water like that? There is definately nothing like that around here in Houston!
I scouted NEW water this morning.....
When I came around the corner and saw this.....
I said Ohhhhh........
My season is not opened until March......
