skunk varient

My cousin bought a few of these at a fly shop in Baldwin, Michigan many years ago. I liked the idea and have since added the dropper loop. It floats almost as well as a rubber spider and is much easier to see when used with a weighted dropper fly.

Cool fly; with that wing I'd think it would be easy to see.

RBC, is the body spun deer hair?
-
Uncle Jesse, yes it is. The standard Michigan skunk is tied with a chenille body but this works better for me for bluegills. It just won't sink and the white deer hair wing replacing the standard plain deer hair can be seen even when I'm casting beyond the weed bed from shore. It also works well a an attractor/terrestrial/ indicator with a midge dropper for summer trout

The standard Skunk is a lot like a bream killer the differences being the tail and wing. A bream killer uses a squirrel tail wing and has no tail. I have caught a ton of bream using the many variant to it I have tied.
