I have seen a bunch from there post on this site. They helped me a lot when I moved to Ontario.
Actually I haven't fished the Humber and would be interested in the advice you receive.
Hi fisher999,
Are you takling about the Humber river in Newfoundland or Ontario? If it is the Humber in Newfoundland go to this website - www3.nf.sympatico.ca/spawn/
These guys put out a yearly magazine called the Spawner and it is based on Newfoundland rivers, flies and salmon fishing. This web site shows flies that have been in the magazine over the past years. Hope this helps!!!
Thanks,
Alan Mills

If you are planning on fishing the Humber River in Ontario, you will have crowds to deal with unless you have your own hidden spot. The hords of Toronto anglers will be there opening day and the water may be tough to fish depending on where you are planning to go. Even the open-all-year stretch is busy most of the time, so I hope you don't mind company. A fly called the "Usual" was a best seller on one trip, but I have had luck using many others. Muddlers and Egg patterns during high spring water when the Bows are around can be hot on some days. From my experience, I found the river varied each day along with depth and water clarity, so pack a variety of flies. Once the crowds have diminished later in the season, try a mouse pattern at dusk. The big browns love to eat them.

The Humber in Newfoundland can be crowded in many areas, especially around Big Falls. Light coloured bombers with orange hackle are very popular. The SPAWNER magazine each year has fly patterns for the Humber and other rivers. The website that Alan gave you has fly patterns indexed to back issues that you can order.
Paul Marriner's book "Modern Atlantic Salmon Flies" has many patterns by Rob Solo, one of the best authorities on the Humber River in Newfoundland.
