Betty Davis quote
I know that this is off subject but some of you might enjoy this story. A couple of years ago, my dad (78 now) was giving a deposition. He was an expert wittness in the field of real estate appraisal. The cross put him on the spot and he became confused. After searching his mind a few minutes for an answer, he blurted out "Getting old aint for sissies". I never knew where that came from.

Cool, I can picture it! You said a lot about your dad in that short post. Active, Valued Expert, Sense of Humor and a Quick Mind!! And, he's (she's) right if you're a Sissy you ain't going to have no fun!!

I recognized the quote as the title of an old book by Art Linkletter but I don't know if he got it from Betty Davis or the other way around.

My sister gave me the book "Old Age is not for Sissies" for my birthday many years ago. She inscribed it "for my sister Betty who will always be older than me". What a family!

Another twist to the "getting older" phase of life. I was fishing with a bunch of guys and we were in a hotel room watching the NCAA basketball tournament. Reuel Hook had been having pronlems with his back and when he stood up, he "tweaked" a muscle. He so eloquently put it... Getting older isn't bad, but the symptoms sure do suck.
