Building a 6 or 7 wt
I am about to build my first rod. I want to put together a 6 or 7 wt that it 8.5 or 9.0 feet long. Preferably, I'd liket the rod to break down to 3 or 4 pieces.
Can ya'll recommend a few good rod blank suppliers? I would really appreciate it. The only brands I've heard of people using in my area are Pac Bay, TFO, and St. Croix. I want something that is good quality, but not too much money. Thank you for any suggestions.

If you want a decent blank for little money take a look at the Forecast blanks available from Hook & Hackle [url=https://www.hookhack.com/rodblanks.html#anchorforecast:5bdf5]https://www.hookhack.com/rodblanks.html#anchorforecast[/url:5bdf5] .

I second the Hook & Hackle. Either the Hook & Hackle Kit or the Forecast Kit - both are excellent and on discount.
I just received my 6'6 2wt, can't wait to get it together.
Go to thier site and browse (drool) a bit.

Another vote for Hook & Hackle. Bob has his Forecast kits at 33% off right now. My next rod will be a Forecast 9' 7 wgt.

Otter, go with Hook and Hackle. Just got started on my 66 2wt, Bob at HH will answer any questions you have, plus every one here on FAOL. Just remember, go slow and think everything out and you wont have any trouble.

otter,
Just finished my first build, and I also highly endorse Hook and Hackle. I built one of the IM6 blanks and I love it. But with all of the cheers for the Forcasts, I think that next time I buy one that is what it will be.
