Faruk Ekich
In my email today was an email supposedly from Faruk Ekich asking for a loan after being mugged in the UK..... of course you know what that means but I thought I'd give a FYI heads up. As most probably know he is the Erick bobbin person and a sponsor here.
Sneaky sneaky:mad::mad:

Duck, ... I know, ... it's a scam!
Someone hacked the Yahoo data base and is sending out e-mails pretending to be Faruk.
I sent an e-mail to Faruk just in case he isn't aware of the situation. I called his home and there was no answer, but I'm pretty sure he isn't in th UK and that he got mugged and that he would send out a blanket SOS for money!

any bets there are more than one faruk ekich in the world?
-
The problem is that they aren't just using his name, ... they're using his e-mail acount too!
-
got the e-mail and called him and left a message because it was so obviously not from Faruk. he called back and said, yes, he'd been on the phone to Yahoo to straighten everything out. what a mess--it was very embarrassing.
he did say the worst part was losing all the contacts. so, you computer guys, would sending him an e-mail restore my contact info to him?
-
Sending him an email would allow him to re-add you to his contact list again, but would not do anything automatically.
-
I believe he can set up his email account to automatically put the sender in his address book....at least I used to be able to do that with Outlook Express.

Faruk sent out a spam alert explaining the situation today.
