The Phil Nymph
Attachment 13465
The "Phil" nymph has been with me for about 3 seasons now and remains one of my top producing nymphs. Named after "Punxsutawney Phil" Pennsylvania's seasonal forecasting Groundhog, due to the single material in which it is tied.

Very interesting fly, Ralph. I didn't have any gopher but I tied a couple with squirrel instead, using the squirrel tail hairs as the wing and tail and the spikey body fur as the body.
Very buggy. Thanks.

Joe,
Sounds like a winner. Squirrel is one of my favorite materials as well.
