I just got a new pair of Dr. Slick forcep/scissors:D. The finger holes have a gold finish and they are too shiney. How can I dull the finish without ruining the forceps:confused:.

Try some scotchbrite or steel wool. But most likely you will need to use something slightly more abrasive like some 240-280 grit sandpaper. Just don't go too crazy with the paper and you should be fine.

When you drop them in the drink or in the tall grass, you'll be glad they're shiny.
Anyway, if you're really paranoid about it, get some electricians tape and start wrapping.
I have a pair of these. I can't say for sure, but I'm reasonably certain that they are minor contributors to my inability to catch every fish in a creek.
I know what you mean about shine, my buddy is bald , I insisted he wear a hat and my fish catch rate went up ten fold.... :)
You could spray them with a dark colored Plasti Dip. My solution was to relegate that pair to situations where I could where them under a jacket, and pick up a less shiny pair for the vest. YMMV.
Below the gold...are they shiny silver? Whatever you do to the silver, do to the gold!
Clip them inside your vest.
Spray them with flat black paint
Sandblaster...then the silver will be shiny too!!
I wouldn't worry about it personally.
