Now, some do, some don't! There's a great variation in cane rods from very slooooooow to pretty fast. Just like with composite rods. I consider my Granger Victory medium-fast and my Rapidan medium. I've got a little 7'10" refrub Monty that is very slow. It depends on the taper, I guess.

Compare a cane with a healthy swelled butt to like a Perfectionists and you will see worlds of difference in the flex of the rod. In theory it does all flex a little but the taper will determine the amount and location of the flex and that will give it the action...
