FLY OF THE WEEK - GRAY SQUIRREL AND DUN FLYMPH
I really like simple flies. If a fly is easy to tie and catches fish, then it?s probably going in my fly box. Last September I was asked to teach Kat Hise (Ron Hise?s wife and Jack?s Sister-in-Law) how to tie a fly. As I sat in the Rumpus room of the Three Rivers Resort I tried to think up a simple fly that would be easy for her to learn, plus have a few different steps so she could try some varying tying techniques. The fly I came up with is a Gray Squirrel and Dun Flymph.

Ron: Great bit of writing, and good photos also! Thank you for this this weeks "FOTW" article!
The other "Fly Of The Week" article by Ron is the "Cased Caddis". I have both available for download, in PDF format (requires the free Adobe Reader download, available on the internet) for viewing. Then you do not have to be OnLine, to view the article while tying! Just my way of "Paying Forward" for all the help I have received over the past 12 years, on FAOL! Now in its 13th year, there is a unbelievable amount of information on fly fishing on this site!
I have my old computer, not able to handle broadband, that I now use in my fly fishing room (furnace room), and transfer FAOL fly patterns to, for dressing hooks.

I have all the "Fly of the Week" articles available of download, as well as most of the other FAOL Fly Patterns scattered around the FAOL site. If I do not have the article you need, I can format a PDF version for download very quickly. parnelli@comcast.netq
