A Father's Day Wish
http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psdyyly5dr.jpg
My Father's Day wish is:
All you outdoorsy folks out there please when you consider a gift to give to a young loved one...please give them a nice rod and reel instead of that cellphone or computer game. Along with that rod and reel promise them that you will take them fishing.

I am not sure where i want my ashes spread.

My dad handed me a spinning rod for my 22nd birthday. I just looked at it and wondered why, as I didn't really take fishing seriously. After some time, I realized he and I didn't have much in common, and that if I took up fishing maybe that could change.
I just finished tying a dozen flies as a father's day gift to him. We fish together a lot!
Sorry to derail and make this about me, but that wish is a good one. I know there's one father who will agree!

Len, A good read and certainly a fitting punctuation to a mans walk. I think of my father often, and most times it is a memory of when we were fishing.

My daughter got married less than 2 years ago and we inherited a 5 year old grand daughter. My son in law's father isn't much of a fisherman so I found one of those little Zebco reels that hangs like a spinning reel and has a trigger instead of a button. She got pretty good pretty quick casting a wood plugs 25 ft. or so. Now, I just need to have her long enough to take her fishing. The trout hatchery has a kids' pond with fish in it. I may not be the grandparent to takes her to Disney every year, but I can be the one who teaches her about the outside world and what God has given us.
