I have both in the former spigot ferrule model. One is the 5 in a 6 wt, the other a 4 in a 4 wt. Both are good values, but the 7 piece is a much nicer rod to me. Your mileage may vary.
I will second the 7 piece model with the spigot ferrules. It is a model from a year or two ago. and not carried anymore. I have a 2 6 wts, and they are my absolute favorite rods (one for each car).

The last two posters were right about the cosmetics, and build of the 7-piece rods being nicer. The 5-piece to me is a little softer action, and smoother than the 7.

I got the 5 piece in a 3wt and love it. I'm not sure this isn't my favorite rod.
I have the Stowaway 7 in 4wt. It's the rod that I fish themost, probably because its always in the truck.
