The New Air-Flo Ridge Line
After being given a couple to try out and report back on, I've been extrememly impressed with this new design in fly lines. I've also, purchased a couple of them, in various weights and tapers.
So, I'm now curious to hear comments about this line, from anyone else here, that's maybe tried them out!?
(My, own, opinion of course, but I've also discovered that at half the price, I like the new Ridge Line a lot better than the new Shark Skin line!?)
Re: The New Air-Flo Ridge Line
flybinder, have you tried it in really cold weather yet? I'm wondering how it does.
Re: The New Air-Flo Ridge Line
ive got one on my 5 wt, and love it
the only issue ive found is that the welded loop tip sinks.
it seems fine in all weather
but im no expert :)
Re: The New Air-Flo Ridge Line
I've fished for steelhead, in 38 degree weather, that's about it as far as "cold' so far, so I'm really anxious to see how it does in the dead of winter, here, this year.
The 'loop end sinking", is odd, haven't had THAT happen to me, yet!?! Did, ONLY, the loop end sink, where yet, the leader remained floating? Or, does your leader sink and pull the loop down with it? Just curious!
I always treat all my loop connections, before using any line, with "Water Shed" so I haven't had this problem happen.
Re: The New Air-Flo Ridge Line
just the loop portion, leader was fine, well a small portion of the leader was pulled under, but nothing major. id say its the last 1-2" of line that sink a bit.
Re: The New Air-Flo Ridge Line
Thanks for the info, flybinder.
