Anyone fishing the salt in the Bradenton area? Anything on the hot bite? Posted on the SW board, didn't get any responses, figured might get 1 on this board.

The guys down there are on the web mostly during the week. I am sure you will get some responses Monday. I am nort of there and the trout are biting and I hear reports that Snook are starting to get active as well. It looks like I'm not going to get out to check for my self this weekend though.

I haven't been out for a month. Don't have any guidance for you. Last March and April the Skyway flats were good areas to fish.

I have seen mixed reports for the Tampa area. One report states that small baitfish are being affected by "red tide" arround the skyway bridge. Another report states that the Spanish Mackeral have started to bite, and as of 3/25/05 could be caught off the skyway bridge.
So , there you have it - a mixed bag !

It sounds as though you might have better luck further North, like arround Clearwater. It is well worth the trip, especially arround Honeymoon Island State Park (purebs' home waters)for a mixed bag of snook , trout, redfish, and maybe even the Spanish 'Mack-attack'.
