Does anyone have the pattern for John Barr's "Slump Buster?" The only links I've found for it were broken. Thanks in advance.

Thanks!!!
Now to tie these up, got some Autumn Splendors already. Time for the Madison (well, the 10 of July). Do appreciate it.

Follow up question on the Slump Buster. Are the squirrel strips cross-cut or regular zonker strips?
Regards,
Alberto
Alberto... I'd say the wing is standard cut Zonker and the collar is probably cross-cut.

Alberto,
I'm not saying there aren't any, but I have not seen any cross-cut pine-squirrel strips. I've watched the guys from Wapsi tie patterns using pine-squirrel wound as hackle and they use the regular zonker strips. It helps to stroke the fur back after each wrap.

Alberto... Steve ties up a great Pine Squirrel Streamer and he has allot more experience tying with squirrel than I do. I have seen recipes of the Slump Buster tied in rabbit where the collar is cross-cut. I'll try to find those links. I think those were tied in bigger streamer sizes.

Seems to me when we go to squirrel it's because it comes in smaller size...if you are so inclined you can cut your own "zonker" strips from rabbit hides and get small sizes and a greater variety of colors...and you can make crosscuts or not...
see previous threads for how....

I'm looking at this pattern and seeing all kinds of variations with rabbit....
