White bass on White river

the white bass were still running up the river from the major impoundments on the White river this past weekend. I paddled my kayak upstream from the houseman access (below Beaver dam) to the first set of rapids and found a large congregation of the fish holed up there. It looked like salmon spawning. I used a clouser minnow and caught 2 or 3 dozen whites which weighed on the average of two to three pounds each. a couple of them were closer to four pounds. what a blast on a fly rod. If they are still there next weekend I'll give it another try.
