I saw some swan fly over the other day ...and wondered about their feathers.
White.... so maybe the best use is to dye them?????
Last year I harvested a Ross Goose, which is white like a swan but a heck of a lot smaller. I have used the feather for wings on wets. I don't know why you couldn't do this with swan feathers as well. I know that if you harvest a swan there are enough feathers on one bird to last one tyer for a lifetime. I picked a couple of them years ago while living in Utah.

Swan is the right stuff for tyeing married wings on classic salmon flies. Dye them and tie them :) .

Swan feathers can be used in place of Goose Shoulders for building salmon fly wings.They are capable of building larger flies than can be done with Goose......Frank
