Italy
I'm planning a trip to Italy next spring. I know this is a long shot, but was wondering if anyone was aware of any opportunities to do some trout fishing in the Abruzzo region. I understand that there may be some places in the Gran Sasso National Park. Any help would be appreciated....

Hi TomassoP
You've probably heard about the Sangro near a Town called Castel di Sangro(AQ) right in the heart of the national park you mention. Great Fly Fishing for browns. I think there is a NK beat there too.
You may also want to try the Nera river in Umbria (Borgo Cerreto) for browns and the Tevere Tailwater near Sansepolcro (Arezzo)for browns and grayling. These are all in central Italy. Let me know if you need further help.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. The Sangro looks especially appealing since I have family in Popoli....
Thanks again - Take care

I don't know about fishing, but having travelled to Avezzano on business, which I think is in Abruzzo, you must try the local wine Montepulchiano.
