TFO Soft Hackle Rod
I was able, with permission from the head shed, treat myself to a second Tenkara rod. I bought a TFO 11'6" Soft Hackle rod. My first experience with it was at Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK. I was fishing the spillway creek in the evening hole. I was using a prince nymph hybrid with a size 20 zebra midge dropper. I caught an 18" rainbow on the midge and you want to talk about a challenge to land it. The rod handled the trout very well. I was using a furled line and fluorocarbon tippet. Luckily I had some help landing the fish but you want to talk about a hoot.

Attachment 12789I'm not accustomed to catching trout but was lucky enough to catch one on my fountainhead 330 last week at falls creek. It was fun using a tenkara rod to land that little bugger. They fight hard! Yours is a bit bigger than mine was.(mine was 12" 13'??? post the pic later of 2nd smaller fish.) I bet that was interesting landing him. The enjoyment is written on your face. Nice fish.
