I'm new to using furled leaders. How long of a tippet section do you typically use with a 4' and a 6' leader? Do you step down through a few different diameters of tippet, or do you go directly to the final diameter (ie 4X)?

I'm new to using furled leaders. How long of a tippet section do you typically use with a 4' and a 6' leader? Do you step down through a few different diameters of tippet, or do you go directly to the final diameter (ie 4X)?
My leaders are just about 7 feet long and I usually go straight to a 4 foot floro tippet. It gets shorter the longer I fish but I'm fishing smallies and they are not leader shy.
I fish a 6 ft leader and go directly to 12-15 lb test mono for my tippet. I fish mostly large bass bugs, and LMB are not leader shy. Such a heavy tippet facilitates turning their heads when they go for the snags or the moss beds, where they can be easily lost.
