I know foam poppers would work as well and be easier to keep floating but these little hair bugs on a # 6 dry fly hook are still one of my favorite ways to fish for bigger sunfish:

That's a cool looking fly. I haven't tried to spin hair yet but, will eventually. Nice tie.

Very nice bug. Foam doesn't leave bubble trails as well as hair does. If you don't grease the hair you can get it wet and get it to rip underneath the surface like an escaping minnow. You can false cast it dry. Foam, unless designed as a slider, tends to skate across the surface. I've caught some of my best fish on deer hair, I'd say your time was well spent. Thanks for sharing your bug. I like foam bugs , too, but I vote for hair bugs, and would never say they weren't worth it, especially when they're fish getters like yours is. :D
