Stripers!
Got the first ones of the season! now i can stop being such a curmudgeon! most were small (one was soooo small his eyes were literally bugging out of his head at the thought of being caught! I guess he never learned about fishermen at school), but also two in the mid-20s...

As your evil twin, it pains me to burst your bubble, but you're still and old curmudgeon no matter how many stripers you catch. Glad to hear the season has started for you.

Dave,
Let me know when the fishing gets good. Then I'llcome and steal all your secret spots.

I look into... my fly box, and think about all the elements I should consider in choosing the perfect fly: water temperature, what stage of development the bugs are in, what the fish are eating right now. Then I remember what a guide told me: 'Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown and fuzzy and about five-eighths of an inch long.' - Allison Moir.
I wonder if he ever fished Saltwater ;)

Jed, I don't think you can strip in a cast without a 'keeper' latching onto it in the spots I took you to. Let me know if you're com9ng, the skiff's in the water.

Josko,
This weekend I'm helping a friend ferry his sailboat up from Darien CT. to New Bedford. Its about a 20 hour sail if all goes well. We'll do some fishing along the way., but I do want to get out your way again soon. I'm trying to schedule some time in June. I'll be in touch.
