Orvis Wonderline
I bought some Orvis Wonderline this year for my 6wt and casted it for the first time in water. All I have to say is wow!!! does it cast like a dream it actually improved my casting. I can also tell the difference in the slickness compared to some of my other lines. Any other comments from the board.
Thanks,
Seege

Hell, Seege. You're a year older, a mite wiser and considerably more experienced than you used to be! JGW

FIREMAN, I like the wonderline, I have it on my 5wt, a word of caution though, don't clean it with comercial line cleaner like I did, use warm soap and water. I used the other and it gets dirty with a few cast, cause I ruined the surface... http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/frown.gif education is good) IMHO
PS: I would like replies on my statement...

I had a wonderline for most of last year. I loved it at first but I stopped using it when it got cold because the problems with memory got horrible once the temperatures started dropping (so bad that stretching the line on every cast wouldn't help out). Most people I have talked to haven't had my problem with it, but I have run into a few with the same complaint.

I don't like the Wonderline. I had purchased a new line for a recent trip. After a few days of using it I removed it and purchased a new line (SA Mastery Series). It would not keep floating. I spoke to several guides on the river who also stated they had problems with it. They referred to it as wonder-if-it-will-float line. I have sent mine back to Orvis for my money back.

Fireman,
What were your other lines?...how old?...what kind of shape were they in? It's all relative.

Fireman...
Wait a couple of weeks and that super slickness will go away. It's just a top coating. Not built into the line.

My other lines are 2 Cabelas multi tip lines Prestige plus, Cortland Peach colored DT, and a Cabelas Prestige. Im using the Orvis mostly for warm water smallmouth/bass in lakes and rivers on a 6wt. I will also use it for streamer fishing for trout when I need it. If I have any problems I will just take it back I want things to work when I go fishing. For now its fine though and I dont see any problems yet. If I have any situations come up with the line I will definately post here. Thanks for the replies.
