I'm sure this subject has been covered at some time or other, but I couldn't find any relevant threads. Has anyone tried using the "great foam" sealer in a can to make popper bodies? They claim it's closed cell, sandable, shapeable, paintable, etc. What I don't know is if it's zap-a-gapable? It's a polyeurathane base, would cyanoacrylate melt it? If not I would think it would be a cinch to shape it. Any ideas?
I've only used it for insulating and it expands like crazy. They may have changed the formula by now. Here's their site -

Actually they now have a formula for cracks and gaps that fills upt to a 1/2 inch. must not expand quite as much. If that's the case then a nice bead of foam should make nice poppers.
ive wondered about it, but i dont have any to expiriment with. if you try, please post the results

I don't remember the name of the stuff we used to fix some things in out house.
It was easy to fill in the holes, gaps, ect. It was also fairly easy to cut and shape it to match the rest of the materials around it.
I would wonder about durability.

I shipped a dirt bike engine in a crate surrounded with Great Stuff.
-Fill the bottom of the crate with the stuff.
-put engine in 2 garbage bags and tape up
-wait until foam is still soft but no longer sticky
-place engine in crate
-fill top of crate with Great Stuff
-all nooks and crannies filled
worked great!
In the warm water section of the website, There is a few articles in a row all about foam poppers and making your own. He mentions the stuff you speak of. Might wanna check it out.
