Longer rabbit fur?
Need some help guys!
I have been tying some micro clousers with rabbit fur. Now I would like to go a size longer, but still pretty small.
Is there a source of longer rabbit hair; maybe like angora wabbits?
Or maybe a product that has the same qualities as rabbit fur?
Thanks in advance, have a great weekend.

Hey Chris,
Look for white Arctic Fox. Great stuff.

Chris,
Kid goat hair is one of my favorite materials for streamers.

Also take a look at the mini Mink Zonker strips.

How long do you need the hare hairs to be? I have some rabbit pelts and some hare (which is longer than the rabbit and blissfully very very white so it can be died with koolaid if needed).
Artic Foxx I think is much longer than the hare, but I wouldn't swear to it...

Don't forget..."Magnum" rabbit. It's longer than normal. When you can find it.

I am tying mini clousers for panfish, and trout in my neck of the woods. I have also found that the spring smallmouths like them alot!!!
The hair that I am using is rabbit fur, from magnum strips, it runs from 3/4 to one inch in length.
What I would like to find is; hair for 1.5 to 2 inches in length, to make slightly longer flies. I really have had some great success with the rabbit, even more the the standard deer hair.
Thwack, if you have some that corrisponds to what I am looking for, please drop me an e-mail, I would love to try and dye some up!
I just might have to try arctic fox , like henry suggested, does anyone have a slice lying arround? I would be more then happy to pay for it, or fandangle some kind of trade.
Thanks guys, have a great weekend!

I just went out to the stack of containers in my garage where I keep spare furs, etc fuming in Enoz. I brought a tape measure and checked the length of that nice white hair...inch and a half...dead on.
I also have some Coyote. The guard hairs are about 2 inches long and fairly light in color. There's a lot of underfur and other hair to pull out to get just the 2 inchers...don't lose that stuff, keep it for dubbing other flies.
Have you looked at mink or muskrat. Their guard hairs are about the length you're looking for (though they're tan to dark brown in color so they probably aren't good for dying...).
