Ferrule Question
This is not really a "building " question but I thought you might help.
Graphite Rod.
I just received a new Albright 3wt from a friend in the U.S.
and on assembling it I find that the male ferrule on the Butt section will not fit into the next section. I did not want to force it. It is close but just wont fit.
Without sending it back and going through that, is there a good method to sand a little from the male ferrule or the inside of the female section?
Any ideas,
Thanks

Re: Ferrule Question
First question, is it under warrantee? If so, do not sand it, send it back, there is something wrong with it. Even it is not under warrantee, I would still contact Albright. This is a manufacturing defect and should be corrected by the manufacturer. Knowing Albright, i can't imagine having a problem with getting them to make it right. Sanding should be the absolute last resort and absolutely do not sand the inside of the female ferrule. Even it you get it to fit, you will eventually end up with a stuck ferrule.

Re: Ferrule Question
I'm curious Duffin Boy, what model number is that 3 wt rod and how many pieces do you have? It almost sounds like you may have a piece missing. For example if you have an A5 model and you only have 4 pieces it could explain the problem.

Re: Ferrule Question
Shhhhhhhhh Joe. 8)
What kind of fool would forget one piece of the rod in the sock thinking it was a 4 pce rod as ordered
only to find the piece after posting a question on a rod forum.
That fool would probably be lucky enough to find it before he found the sandpaper.
Sheesh...... 8)
Like I said....problem solved.
(Joe....do you work for CSI???
Cheers
