:?: I'm tying a muddler pattern that calls for a wing made of a matched par of turkey slips tied downwing style. Now I've tied plenty of turkey slip wings but for some reason this "downwing" style description has me stumped.
Can anybody shed some light on what this wing should look like?

I think "up wing" would mean straight up and down relative to the hook; like a mayfly holds it wings.
"Tent wing" looks like a moth, or a butterfly with it's wings out.
"Down wing" would be like a classic wet fly style, like the wing in this Old Montreal :

Downwing:
Wing materials so attached as to flow backwards along body top. Used in most wet flies and streamers. Sometimes slightly divided.
