Bowl fly swap?
Just want to put a feeler out there and see if a fair number of people here would be interested in a College Bowl Fly Swap. The admins at NGTO did not see this as a problem so I am running one there.
Basically, you make picks of all the bowl games coming up. Entry fee is 2 flies (preferrably hand tied and the same fly). The winner gets all the flies that were entered. We really didn't even say what kind of flies they had to be, just "good for winter use".
I have created Excel sheets for this already. All anyone would have to do would be pm me for info on where to send flies, give me an email address and you'd receive instructions on how to use the Excel sheet I send to enter picks and then return it to me.
I also have a "master" spreadsheet set up that would display everyone who enter's picks and automatically calculates everyone's number of wins. I have no idea how to post this to a message forum. I would not mind keeping leaders posted regularly on this thread however.
How many would be interested? Is this even in the right forum? (I haven't been here in a while.)

Re: Bowl fly swap?
I don't understand this, however I'll take the MO Tigers in the Cotton. I'll tie something with black and gold in it. JGW

Re: Bowl fly swap?
Simple version:
If you're interested in risking 2 flies for a chance to win many others tied by FAOL members by being the best College football prognosticater on the board, say YES! I want to win some flies.

Re: Bowl fly swap?

Re: Bowl fly swap?
Interest is very low apparently. Unless I get several more pm's in the next few days, it won't happen here. PM me if you'd like directions to another forum where I have a good pool already going.

Re: Bowl fly swap?
Question: Is it two flies for each Bowl Game?
I'll play!
Here are my picks:
LSU in the National Championship
Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl
Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl
Georgia in the Sugar Bowl
USC in the Rose Bowl
Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl
So, I need to tie 12 flies, right? Is a different pattern for each Bowl Game OK?
This sounds like fun.

Re: Bowl fly swap?
The idea was to have a ton of players at only 2 flies each. All the flies go into a big pot. You pick EVERY bowl game (I have them organized in an excel file) and the person with the most wins at the end gets ALL the flies. PM me if you want more details. There are a couple of guys who moved over to another forum where there's far more interest and a pretty good sized pool.
