Does anybody know how to put a stripe on solid color rubber legs? I used to know, but forgot. It involves a vise, marker, and pulling on the leg, but couldn't get it to work.

I could never get consistent results twisting the rubber/ brushing with the marker. Now I just put the rubber leg on a flat surface and roll it with the tip of a Sharpie; works fine.

Will barred sili legs work?
Stretch the bands between two points (e.g. use a clipboard and bulldog clip or the like) and then run a permanent marker across them. Works pretty well and depending on how meticulous you are, the results can be fairly consistent.
Might have to try the sili legs - have some of them.
Whatfly, do you mean to just make small bands with the legs stretched out? The way I did it that I've forgotten was to make a longitudinal mark, I think.
There was a video around a couple of years ago of a guy making striped rubber legs. Essentially he anchored one end in a vise, twisted the material tightly and ran a marker along it.
Aha, that's it - the twist. I'm going to try that.
How could you forget Chubby Checker?
Wow, and that was my era. Tried the twist and that was it - thanks to all.
