GARY'S DEPTH CHARGE
"Here's an offering for the Fly of the Week. I don't know if it is similar to anything that already has a name but it sure fits the bill for me. I use it to swing deep for Steelhead on my home water North Umpqua River. "

Thanks Gary,
Interesting fly. I've never heard of Quick Descent dubbing before. You may have just opened a new door for me. Does it come in different colors? Say peacock?
Lotech,
Here is a link to Cabela's version of it. Many fly shops carry it as well.

Spirit River has the same dubbing and calls it Depth Advantage.
Quick Descent Dubbing! I wrote a story on this dubbing many many years ago, when I was the weekly columnist for "Tying Tips". I gave credit for the article to "Andy Ross" who worked at the fly shop, that I was visiting!
It is a great material to use by itself. or to blend with other dubbing materials.
You can use it to shape a nymph body, without all the rigmarole and hoopla that other techniques call for....
