Boat ramp closed
The good news is.... the parts to fix the broken valve arrived and repairs will begin this week. The water level is dropping 5 inches a day and the boat ramp is nothing but a mud flat. Wonder if the guy was in the wheel chair when it was tossed off the bridge.
This was Gary's "secret spot" for largemouth when the water was higher. :D
Took my Tenkara rod out in search of Red Devils... even with the water down 25 feet they are going into spawning mode. Note the big hump on the head. These weighed one pound each... normally a RD runs between 1/2 to 3/4 pounds. They are lots of fun on a light Tenkara rod and 4# test leader.
Well, NO Boat fishing till the water level comes back up.

Are those Red Devils a type of freshwater drum??

The Red Devils and Midas Chill ids are aquarium fish that someone dumped into the lake. Those little tropical fish really grow big when there is lots of room.
The valve in the dam isn't fixed yet, but it is almost in teh closed position. We've had a little rain and the water level is up enough to use the boat ramp...
and the peacock bass fishing is HOT.
