Nova Scotia
Help, I need some advice about fishing in Nova Scotia. I plan to be there in October 2005, staying in Sydney and would like to know if any of you have had an experience there? I would like to do some stream fishing and wonder what types of fish are available to me at that time of year? Any suggestions on a guide?

Hi there Breeze.
By the time October comes around fishing is pretty well done for here in Nova Scotia. However there are a few exceptions, the following link is to the Dept. of Fisheries website that has the angling regulations listed. http://www.gov.ns.ca/nsaf/sportfishing/angling/[/url:dd50a]
A good guide in that area is Ed Woodsworth, his website is http://www.cbflyfishing.com[/url:dd50a]
Hope this helps you out.

Here is another place to try. I do believe they will answer your questions if you ask them. Jamie gave the Gov. Site and that should help you to. Ron

Hi Breeze,
You will be about an hour and a half from one of the best fall salmon rivers (Margaree River) in eastern Canada. A friend and I go the middle of October. Last year I was a week to late but the year before I hit it perfect. I hooked 11 salmon and landed 7 of them in 5 days of fishing. The biggest being around 18 lbs. It is a beautiful river to fish, all fishing is fly fishing and you wade the river, felt soled waders recomended, no boats. A non resident licence is around $50.00 Canadian for 7 days fishing and you do not need to have a guide if you do not want to.
A web site to check out

This guy has a fly shop near the river and usually has good information about the river.
Might see you there.
