me and a good friend did a little hiking/fly fishing in the back woods. great fishing and hit a great caddis hatch. fish were very selective untill i changed to a size 20 black elk hair caddis and then was really in to them!

tried a 14 and had a few hits but nothing solid, switched to a 20 and that did the trick!

Seems like a #14 or #16 should have worked .
