Not sure if this will work. It is my take on a hairwing dun. Next time I will have longer "wings"?

Byron,
Very nice, my friend... very nice. Well tied in every way. I wouldn't change a thing on that fly...
So, when should I expect my 2 dozen in varying sizes??? (I'm kidding, of course...)
Be well, and keep wrapping those hooks. And, may you always know the joy of a tight line... Jerry, aka hairwing530, aka "Captain Hooks"
This is one of my favorite patterns for mayfly duns. Although I tie it as described at http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/fly...m?parentID=179 with the wing in front of, and over, the hackle and the hackle clipped underneath.
I think of the hairwing as my "good enough" mayfly dun. In the right size and color it works on most hatches and it floats well, has good visibility, decent duability and is relatively easy to tie. If this doesn't work, then I break out the parachutes, comparaduns, etc.
