Wet wading question
When the water warms up, I plan to wade the shallows in a nearby pond without pulling on the waders, boots etc. The bottom is pretty firm, and I'll avoid any deep muddy areas. I have Chota neopprene Kick Boat booties. However, they are sized to fit over the neoprene feet of my waders, so too big to wear on bare feet. What do you all suggest I wear under these for wet wading? Thanks!

I wear Simms neoprene wading socks with my Chota boots when wet wading.

Just wear an old pair of tennis shoes?

This is what I bought last year and I love them. http://www.basspro.com/World-Wide-Sp...55184/-1034271 The thing I like the most is no mud or anything gets into them, water will work in but that is all I have ever had get into them.

I got a pair of these last year and never looked back:

Mine are the KSOs, which differ from those pictured only by being lighter and thinner material in the upper (nylon instead of neoprene).

Bare feet work well for me as long as there aren't rocks or glass.

Like Bobbyg said a pair of these will make any wading boot/shoe fit just fine when wet wading. I typically put a heavy wool sock on my foot followed by the Simms Guard Socks and then my wading shoe ALTHOUGH...
...when wading on, in or around mud, I prefer studded rubber or studded felt if that's all I got. Felt can get pretty slippery and the Kick Boat Booties have small felt patches, lots of exposed rubber and no cleats. If your regular wading shoes have studs I would just use those. They also will save you if there is any glass or other sharp stuff lying about.

A cheap pair of thick wool socks will work as well. Don't have to worry about them being too warm since your in the water. I would stay away from bare foot wading though, just too much of a chance of stepping on a hook, piece of glass or sharp rock with bare feet. Plus leeches are no fun.

These always worked well for me, and they include a gravel guard.

I wear flats booties like Steve's when using my pontoon with swim fins, I have the foot section of some old waders I use with my boots, works great.
