I really hate to say this, but Powell has a long way to go to get me back as a customer.
I have had problems with them in the past.
I wonder what sets this reel apart? It seems like a low end kind of thing and looks that way too.
CO Flyguy- Powell use to have a very good name until they were taken over and run into the ground by the people that took them over. I have had several Powell rods that were top noth rods. I am hoping that the "NEW" Powell Company does it like they use to. You might want to wait and see before hitting them so hard. As for the reel you have to walk before you can run. It is a start. Just my opinion. Ron
I have to agree with CO Flyguy. A friend of mine purchased a Powell rod recently and on it's maiden voyage, it broke at one of the guide wraps. He's called them and sent e-mails and they've basically just ignored him. It's a shame, it was such a good company until Charles Schuab took them over.
Looks like a cheaper version of a Pflueger Trion to me.
Powell once had a fine heritage and a quality product. Unfortunately, they lost their direction as well as the respect of many that once admired their products.
