Pack Fly Rod Suggestion
I'm looking to build a small pack rod for hiking several miles into fishing areas. I'd like it to be inexspensive being that I won't be using it more than a few times a year. I'm looking for a 3 or 4 wt. for panfish or maybe the occasional smallmouth. Ideas are appreciated because I've never shopped for one.

Probably at the lower end of the cost would be an Eagle Claw Trailmaster, which is under $100, it is spec'd at IM-7 composite. Not sure what that means. I know there are a few Eagle Claw fans here on the board, so on may chime in. Albright has a 8 piece 5 wt. for around $150. They may include something else with the purchase, they always seem to have a deal on purchases. A 5 wt. is still fun for panfish and can throw a decent size bass bug.

Bruce search on ebay for a seller whom goes by the seller name o6231 His real name is Roger and he's from the west coast. He sells IM7 7pc blanks all the time on ebay and they usually end up going for between $25-$35 by the end of the auction. I have built a number of rods on those blanks for guys that want pack rods and they are a really nice little blank, and the price can't be beat for the blank.
